Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice describes what Thomas County Busted Mugshots receives when a visitor uses the pages, search tools, or contact route, how that information is used, and when it may be shared. By using the pages, a visitor accepts these practices. The notice is written for the private reference service and does not replace the policy of an agency or outside provider reached through a link.

Information Sent Directly

Search terms

A name or location entered in a search box is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Thomas County Busted Mugshots does not store or log those search terms on its own server. The provider's privacy policy governs its handling after the request leaves this service.

Messages and submissions

If a visitor sends an email or contact message, the message and reply details may be kept so the request can be answered and the exchange can be documented. They are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is needed to respond, protect rights, or comply with a valid legal obligation.

Technical Data and Cookies

Normal page delivery may produce technical records such as:

  • IP address
  • Browser name and version
  • Device type and operating system
  • Pages visited and time spent on each
  • Referring website, when supplied by the browser
  • Request timestamps

Cookie choices

Cookies may help understand how visitors use the pages, remember limited settings, or support partner tools. Browser controls can block or delete cookies. Some features may work differently when cookies are disabled. Outside services can set their own cookies under their own policies.

How Information Is Used

Data may be used to operate and improve the reference service, including to:

  • Keep pages working and reasonably fast
  • Send search requests to the selected partner tool
  • Learn which pages are useful
  • Find errors, abuse, and technical faults
  • Display advertising that may be relevant to a visitor

Information is not used to turn a booking record into an official government record. A linked agency or provider may apply a different policy once a visitor leaves these pages.

Outside Websites and Providers

Pages link to the Thomas County Sheriff's Office roster, the Thomas County Jail, the Thomas County Clerk, police and court portals, the Georgia Department of Corrections, federal locators, news outlets, and outside search tools. The destination controls its own privacy notice, security, cookies, retention, and terms. Review that policy before sending information or using a form.

Advertising partners may track activity across sites for interest-based advertising on their systems. That activity is not controlled by this reference service. A link does not mean that an outside provider is endorsed or that its result is complete.

Who May Receive Data

Personal data is not sold by this reference service. It may be available to the following recipients when needed for the listed purpose:

  • Search partners that process a submitted query
  • Analytics providers that measure page use
  • Advertising networks and their service providers
  • Law-enforcement or government bodies responding to a valid legal order

Service providers may process data on behalf of the service. They should receive only what their function requires, subject to their own terms and legal duties.

Security Limits

Reasonable standard security practices are used for an internet service, but no connected system is completely secure. Transmission, storage, and third-party systems can carry risks. No promise is made that the service is breach-proof or that an outside provider will use the same safeguards.

Visitors Under 18

The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor sent information, a parent or guardian may use the Get in Touch route to ask for deletion, subject to a reasonable identity check and any legal recordkeeping duty.

Privacy Choices and Rights

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, a person may ask to:

  • Receive a copy of personal data held by the service
  • Correct inaccurate contact information
  • Request deletion of information that is not needed for a legal or operational reason
  • Object to or opt out of certain processing, including some marketing uses

Send a clear request through the contact route. A request may need enough information to locate the record, and some data may be retained to prevent abuse, answer a dispute, or meet a legal duty.

Changes to This Notice

This notice may be revised when the service, providers, or legal requirements change. A revised version will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use after posting means the updated practices apply from that date. Effective date: August 17, 2026.
